Tolerance Day: Let's Celebrate the Unity in Our Diversity!

On this International Day for Tolerance, we’d like to remind everyone that tolerance is not only our moral duty, but also a political and legal requirement for all individuals, groups and States. To be TOLERANT is crucial if we want to foster mutual understanding among cultures and peoples, especially in this era of rising and violent extremism and widening conflicts, characterized by a fundamental disregard for human life.

The attacks that people like Muslims or Asian people have been suffering because of recent terror attacks or prejudices around the Covid-19 pandemic is a shame to fundamental freedoms and an insult to all the people who fight restlessly to eradicate intolerance.

We urge governments to guarantee equality of treatment and of opportunity for all groups and individuals in society, and individuals to fight intolerance and learn to LOVE each other. We are all born different; the diversity of our world's many religions, languages, cultures and ethnicities is not a pretext for conflict, but is a treasure that enriches us all!
