On 23 September 2019, Manushya Foundation in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bangkok, ThaiNetizen Network, Access Now and the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) will host the Launch of the Study on Thailand’s Cybersecurity Act.
The National Cybersecurity Act adopted by the Royal Thai Government poses several challenges which could negatively affect local communities and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
The study promotes a human-centred approach to cybersecurity, to protect people, and opposes it being misused for control and surveillance of citizens, in line with international human rights standards.
The launch will hear from regional and international experts on cybersecurity, data privacy and communications infrastructure.
