About Manushya Foundation
#WeAreManushyan ∞ Equal Human Beings ∞
We are a Women-led Intersectional Feminist Human Rights Organization reinforcing the power of Human Beings to fight for Human Rights, Equality & Justice!
∞ Our Story ∞
In Sanskrit, Manushya means 'Human Being'. Manushya Foundation (Manushya) was founded in 2017 by Emilie Palamy Pradichit, with the vision to build a movement of Equal Human Beings ∞ #WeAreManushyan ∞ Manushya is an Intersectional Feminist organization reinforcing the power of Humans, in particular local communities and women human rights defenders, to fight for Human Rights, Equality & Justice!
∞ Our New Logo ∞
We have changed our tagline from 'Empowering Communities - Advancing Social Justice' to '#WeAreManushyan ∞ Equal Human Beings' as we are building a movement of humans working from a place of heart, treating each other following our values, with Equality being a core one. We also stop using 'empowering' as we believe that all humans have power. Patriarchy, oppression, neocolonialism, racism, and xenophobia are suppressing people's power; thus, our goal is to reinforce the existing power that we all have within.
∞ Our Vision ∞
#WeAreManushyan • Equal Human Beings • We believe in the 'Infinite Positive Power of Humans' in building together inclusive, just, equal, and peaceful societies in Asia, where everyone enjoys human rights, leaving no one behind.
∞ Our Mission ∞
We connect and reinforce the power of local communities across Asia to be at the center of decisions and policies that affect them. Communities become Agents of Change fighting for their rights and providing solutions to improve their lives and livelihoods.
∞ Our Values ∞
Community & Local Leadership
We believe in the ‘Infinite Positive Power of Humans’ to be our own agents of change to transform our lives. No matter who we are and where we come from, we have the right to dream big and build the world we dream of. We reinforce the power of the youth and communities we work with so they can lead and build a just, green, inclusive, feminist world.
Equity
We are committed to equity. We recognize that each individual does not all start from the same place, opportunity, and privilege. We acknowledge the diverse needs of individuals and believe in redistributing fair, just, and equitable treatment, access, and opportunity for all to end systemic discrimination and achieve their full potential.
Love & Compassion
We connect with our hearts to create a safe space where the fundamental human rights of every unique individual are respected.
Do No Harm
We are committed to ensuring that our work and our team do not cause harm and disempower the communities we work with.
Feminism
We apply a gender lens to all of our work and activities and ensure that women, particularly from marginalized communities, are at the forefront of the human rights response. We focus on powering women activists and human rights defenders, youth, and LGBTIQ+ individuals to tell their very own stories in a powerful manner for their advocacy.
Solidarity
We believe in the power of coalitions to build solidarity and express community concerns as one strong and unified voice. We endorse, support, and collaborate with local communities across Thailand and Southeast Asia to work towards a just, inclusive, green, feminist world.
Equality
We believe everyone should be treated equally with respect and dignity regardless of their race, gender, sexuality, social status, physical or neurological ability, religion, nationality, or anything else.
Intersectionality
We embrace inclusivity and diversity. We acknowledge that everyone has their own unique journeys and experiences of discrimination and oppression.
Well-being
We believe that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for mental well-being. We prioritize self-care, relaxation, and self-awareness. Being mentally healthy and living well is important to every single one of us.
