The joint statement urges the government to drop all charges against the 14 land rights defenders, scrap the Reclamation of the Forest Policy, ensure that people’s sovereignty is respected, fulfil its international Human Rights obligations and stop criminalising human rights defenders and especially women human rights defenders, and protect them instead.
