📍ครบรอบ 2 ปีการสลายการชุมนุม #16ตุลาไปแยกปทุมวัน การชุมนุมครั้งสำคัญของการเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตยในไทย เหตุการณ์ความรุนแรงที่ไม่ควรถูกลืม✊🏻 #16ตุลาไปราชประสงค์

🚨 วันนี้เป็นวันครบรอบ 2 ปีของ #ม็อบ16ตุลา63 หรือวันที่เจ้าหน้าที่ได้ใช้กำลังเข้าปราบปรามการประท้วงเป็นครั้งแรก ณ สี่แยกปทุมวัน กรุงเทพฯ มีรายงานว่าเจ้าหน้าที่ติดอาวุธหลายร้อยนายใช้ปืนฉีดน้ำแรงดันสูงเข้าปราบปรามผู้เข้าร่วมการชุมนุมที่ไม่มีอาวุธ ซึ่งส่วนใหญ่เป็นเยาวชนและนักเรียนมัธยม โดยเจ้าหน้าที่ได้ยิงน้ำย้อมสีน้ำเงินที่มีสารระคายเคืองจากปืนฉีดน้ำแรงดันสูงใส่ผู้ประท้วง ให้ตำรวจสามารถระบุตัวตนของประชาชนเหล่านั้นได้เพื่อทำการจับกุม อีกทั้งสื่อยังได้รายงานอีกว่าน้ำสีฟ้านั้นมีส่วนผสมของแก๊สน้ำตา

✏️เพื่อเป็นการย้ำเตือนทุกคนและอ้างอิงจากกฎบัตรและข้อบังคับของสหประชาชาติที่ว่า "ควรใช้ปืนฉีดน้ำขนาดใหญ่ในสถานการณ์ที่กระทบต่อความสงบเรียบร้อยอย่างร้ายแรง ซึ่งมีความเป็นไปได้อย่างยิ่งที่จะนำไปสู่การเสียชีวิต การบาดเจ็บสาหัส หรือการทำลายทรัพย์สินในวงกว้าง" ซึ่งเห็นได้ชัดว่าไม่ใช่กับกรณีการประท้วง 16 ตุลาคม 2020!

⚠️ แต่ความกังวลในเรื่องความรุนแรงและการใช้กำลังโดยไม่จำเป็นของเจ้าหน้าที่ยังไม่จบลง! เพราะเรายังคงเห็นได้จากการประท้วงครั้งปัจจุบันที่ยังคงดำเนินอยู่เรื่อย ๆ ในกรุงเทพฯ เช่น การชุมนุมประท้วง ณ สี่แยกดินแดง นอกจากนี้ ยังมีเรื่องการกักขังแกนนำผู้ประท้วงตามอำเภอใจจากการถูกตั้งข้อหาใหม่ทางอาญาและถูกควบคุมตัวและถูกปฏิเสธไม่ให้ประกันตัว ประเทศไทยจำเป็นต้องดำเนินการมากกว่านี้เพื่อปกป้องผู้ชุมนุมจากความรุนแรง และเพื่อให้ประชาชนสามารถใช้สิทธิการชุมนุมอย่างสันติได้อย่างปลอดภัย 🕊

🕯 มูลนิธิมานุษยะขอประณามการใช้ความรุนแรงต่าง ๆ ของตำรวจและเจ้าหน้าที่ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการใช้แก๊สน้ำตา กระสุนยาง ปืนเทเซอร์ และปืนฉีดน้ำแรงดันสูง ต่อประชาชนและผู้ชุมนุมที่ไม่มีอาวุธ ซึ่งเป็นการละเมิดพันธกรณีด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศของประเทศไทย เราขอยืนหยัดเคียงข้างและปกป้องผู้ชุมนุมและนักเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อประชาธิปไตย อีกทั้งเราขอประณามการจับกุมและการกำหนดให้แกนนำผู้ชุมนุมมีโทษทางอาญา เราขอเรียกร้องให้ปล่อยตัวนักโทษทางการเมืองที่ถูกจับกุมอยู่ ณ ตอนนี้ทั้งหมด!

🚨 เราขอเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลไทยที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกองทัพและสถาบันฯ ยุติการละเมิดและคุกคามประชาชนซ้ำ ๆ แบบเดียวกับที่เคยทำในอดีต พวกเขาต้องรับฟังและปฏิบัติตามข้อเรียกร้องของประชาชน!

📍 2nd Anniversary of 16 October 2020 Thai authorities fire water cannon to disperse Pathumwan intersection protest, Let's not forget 16 October 2020!✊🏻

🚨 Today marks the 2nd anniversary of police brutality in the Pathumwan Intersection protest crackdown in Bangkok. Hundreds of armed cops pushed against #UNARMED protesters, mainly youth and high school students, using cannon water that contained chemical irritants and were stained blue for the first time toward peaceful protesters so that cops could identify them easily and arrest them. The media has also reported that the blue water might be mixed with tear gas.

✏️ As a reminder and according to the United Nations “Water cannon should only be used in situations of serious public disorder where there is a significant likelihood of loss of life, serious injury or the widespread destruction of property”. That was clearly not the case at the 16 October 2020 protest! ❗️

⚠️ But the concern regarding violence and the excessive use of force by Thai authorities hasn't come to an end yet! as we can still see in the recent protests in Bangkok such as Din Daeng intersection. Also, there’s still the arbitrary detention of protest leaders who have recently faced new criminal charges and have been denied bail and detained. Thailand needs to do more to protect protesters from violence and ensure that the public can safely exercise the right to peaceful assembly🕊

We stand in solidarity & defense of protesters and pro-democracy activists, we also condemn the ongoing arrests and criminalization of protest leaders. We demand the release of all political prisoners NOW! ✊🏻

🚨 We call on the Thai military-backed government and the #Monarchy to desist from repeating the violations of the past. They must listen and follow people's voices and demands!
