Today marks four years since environmental lawyer and climate justice advocate Dang Dinh Bach was arrested and detained by Vietnamese authorities. His crime? Advocating for climate justice and communities. 

As public finance flows for Vietnam’s $15.5B Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), climate advocate Dang Dinh Bach remains behind bars. Where's the "just" in this transition if voices like his are silenced? 

Dang Dinh Bach dedicated his life to protecting marginalized communities from pollution and promoting a just energy transition. 

The UN has called for Dang Dinh Bach’s immediate release, stating his arbitrary detention violates international law. 

From inside prison, Dang Dinh Bach continues to inspire: awarded the 2024 Roger N. Baldwin Medal of Liberty for his unwavering commitment to environmental justice. His work is crucial for a sustainable and just future.
