In our latest report, “From Colonial Exploitation to Climate Vulnerability: A Legacy of Injustice for Marginalized Communities - Non-Economic Loss & Damage in Asia and the Pacific”, we expose the devastating colonial impacts on our Planet. Due to historical and structural inequalities, marginalized communities in our region bear the brunt of the climate crisis while being the least responsible for it.
Rural, low income, Indigenous and ethnic communities are paying the high cost of uncontrolled exploitation of resources, destruction of ecosystems, burning of fossil fuels and lack of inclusive climate policies.
Among all, Indigenous communities face an existential threat from climate change due to their deep connection to nature.
✊ Climate justice is about breaking this circle of inequalities and ensuring no one is left behind in the transition to low carbon societies!
