This extractive system left deep economic and environmental disparities that persist until today.

While industrialized nations reaped the benefits of economic growth, colonized territories bore the environmental costs, enduring deforestation, resource depletion and ecological destruction. 

When Global Minority nations have contributed disproportionately to the climate crisis, Global Majority nations face the most severe impacts.
