Extension of Covid-19 Emergency Decree - Thai Government's Weapon to Maintain Dictatorship?

Stop Dictatorship! The extension of the Covid-19 Emergency Decree until the end of November 2020 is unecessary. The Emergency Decree to combat Covid-19 is only used as a weapon to arrest pro-democracy activists, silence critical voices, harass free media and punish protests.

BUT, in reality, there's been little Covid-19 transmission in Thailand for the past months. Yet, the emergency decree to combat the pandemic had been in place for 8 months already.

We call on the military-backed government to respect and protect Thai citizen’s constitutional rights to freedom of speech and right to protest.
