Freedom of association without class struggle is just a country club membership.

We just submitted comments on the UN's draft General Comment No. 38 on Article 22 of ICCPR (Right to Freedom of Association)

This freedom was never a gift handed down by benevolent states. If anything, it was won in the streets, with the blood and sweat of workers who were fighting for equal treatment and decent wages.

🇺🇳 We submitted comments on the UN's draft General Comment No. 38 on Article 22 of ICCPR (International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights). Our message is simple: Name the power imbalance, or the protections will mean nothing.

📢 We are demanding the Committee write a document with teeth. That means recognising informal and digital organising, the Facebook groups, WhatsApp threads and leaderless networks doing the real work of association without registration or funding. It means naming the surveillance industry directly, since spyware sold to repressive governments is a supply chain problem, not just a use problem.
