On 20 October, grassroots communities launched 28 advocacy factsheets exposing #WhatsHappeningInThailand ahead of the country’s UN human rights review on 9 November, bringing overlooked realities and demands to the forefront.

Organised by Manushya Foundation and the Thai CSOs Coalition for the UPR and UN Mechanisms, with the101.world as official media partner, our press conference exposed what official accounts too often leave out:

🌱 Indigenous and rural communities defending their lands.

🛡️ Defenders and refugees facing repression for speaking out.

⚖️ Workers fighting exploitation, Patani communities demanding justice, and marginalised groups reclaiming their bodily autonomy and identity.

These factsheets carry a year of decolonial and intersectional feminist organising with over 350 grassroots leaders, defenders and allies. Too often, these struggles are dismissed as isolated local issues. Together, they expose a national pattern of impunity and exclusion that Thailand must answer for at its UN human rights review.

📣 To the States reviewing Thailand: listen to frontline communities. Make specific, actionable recommendations.

📣 To Thai authorities: turn commitments into concrete change, with communities shaping and safely scrutinising implementation.
