🌐 A feminist digital future is possible, BUT only if it is rooted in justice.

On 23 April, our Founder and Executive Director, Emilie Palamy Pradichit, spoke at the panel ā€œDigital Rights, Gender Equity and Youth Protection in ASEAN’s Digital Transformation,ā€ moderated by Angela Romano from the University of Queensland.

As part of a leadership training for emerging Southeast Asian women leaders in digital transformation, the panel brought together feminist voices with one shared vision: digital spaces where historically excluded communities are not only ā€œprotected,ā€ but hold power.

Grateful to have shared space with feminist digital advocates Christine Sumog-Oy, Philippines Country Lead of the National Models for Women’s Safety Online Program; Nenden Sekar Arum, Executive Director of SAFEnet; and Anita Wahid, Digital Democracy Activist and Indonesian Representative on ASEAN.

As Emilie Palamy reminded us, safety cannot be placed on individuals alone.

Governments and platforms must be held accountable. Communities must shape the systems that affect them. And across Southeast Asia and beyond, solidarity and sisterhood must prevail. ✊
