Mass murderers not welcome! Condemning dictator Min Aung Hlaing's official visit to Thailand and quest for legitimacy

Today, Thailand rolled out the red carpet for Min Aung Hlaing, architect of Myanmar’s 2021 coup and ICC-wanted war criminal, who seeks international legitimacy for his “presidency” following military-engineered sham elections in April.
⚠️ While millions in Myanmar are bombed, jailed, and driven from their homes under Min Aung Hlaing’s regime, Thailand rewards their oppressor with official honours and business forums. Even worse, Thai authorities are actively colluding in transnational repression by arresting activists from Myanmar and silencing migrant communities’ peaceful protests on Thai soil.
We stand in solidarity with the people of Myanmar and condemn this shameful legitimisation of a mass-murdering dictator! ✊
📢 Thai authorities must stop doing the dirty work of authorities across borders. The state must uphold the principle of non-refoulement under Section 13 of its Anti-Torture Act, Article 3 of the Convention Against Torture, and Article 16 of the Convention on Enforced Disappearance. No refugee, asylum seeker or activist may be returned to face persecution, torture or enforced disappearance.
We are watching. Any escalation against Myanmar activists during or after this visit will not go unseen.
