🚨 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘! New information on the missing Lao activist Khieo Lapchanh ⬇️Have you seen him?

New CCTV footage tells us he was last seen at approximately 2:21 AM on 15 September, heading home after work in Samut Sakhon. But Khieo never made it home. You can read more about his case here: bit.ly/WhereIsKhieo

Khieo is one of many Lao activists who have gone missing or were killed in Thailand for speaking out about political and social issues in Laos. Lao activists who seek safety and protection in Thailand still face transnational repression, both online and escalating physically

👤 Od Sayavong, member of the Free Lao group, disappeared in Bangkok in 2019 right after meeting with the then-UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights.

🕳️ Bounsuan Kitiyano, a Lao refugee, was shot dead in Thailand in 2023, days before his planned resettlement to Australia.

👁️‍🗨️ Now, Khieo. An online critic who went missing right before his interview with UN refugee agency UNHCR which he had been preparing for.

We urge Thai authorities to investigate this and urgently trace his movements.
