#NoToAgeGating! 🙅🏽‍♀️ When states say they want to “protect children” by banning them online, which children do they mean? 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧: 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙤𝙧! 🙃

Freedom has never been granted from above. It has been seized, again and again, by the people most determined to be free, and most often by the young.

In Manushya Foundation's submission to the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, “𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘭𝘬 𝘛𝘦𝘢 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘨𝘦-𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘸𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢-𝘗𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤”, we write about:

⚖️ 𝗔𝗴𝗲-𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮-𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰, beginning with Australia and copied in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines under the language of protecting children.

⛓️‍💥 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, the children charged under lèse-majesté in Thailand, the protesters killed in Indonesia and Nepal, the activists red-tagged in the Philippines, the young people in Myanmar buried under cement so they could not become symbols.

🤝 And 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱.

As decolonial and intersectional feminists, we do not ask to be included in the systems that were engineered to fail this generation. 📢 We are demanding their transformation. Inclusion without transformation only makes an unjust order more comfortable to occupy.
