As we close Pride Month 2026, we call out the corporations and elite institutions wrapping themselves in rainbows while refusing to confront the systems that keep LGBTIQ+ people unsafe, unheard, and exploited.

No wonder over 37% of LGBTIQ+ people surveyed by dating app Taimi (2026) said Pride has become a “commercial event” that lost its true meaning.

Yes, we celebrate Marriage Equality and every win fought for by queer feminist movements. ✊ But progress must never become a smokescreen.

🇹🇭 Only last month, a trans woman in Bangkok was forced to shave her head and publicly humiliated by an angry mob. Trans sex workers are still pushed into danger by criminalisation and stigma. Queer migrant workers, refugees, Indigenous land defenders, and working-class LGBTIQ+ communities are still exploited by the same economy now selling them “inclusion.”

So when a “rainbow bell” rings at the Stock Exchange of Thailand in the name of an “inclusive economy,” we ask: inclusive for whom? 💸

Is Pride truly about safer futures where LGBTIQ+ people don’t just survive but thrive? Or is it about lining elite pockets and exploiting the rainbow market of queer lives?

Pride was born from protest. It belongs to those most punished by patriarchy, capitalism, borders, racism, ableism, and state violence.
