โ๏ธย On 29 August 2025, Thai courts sentenced student activist ๐ฝ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ง (เธเธฑเธเธเธดเธ) to 4 years in prison โ just for sharing two Facebook posts from ThaluWang about taxpayer money and the monarchy.
โก๏ธย She was prosecuted under Section 112 (Lรจse-Majestรฉ) and the Computer Crimes Act (CCA) โ a double-edged sword used to silence dissent. โก๏ธ 2 shares. 4 years. No freedom. โก๏ธ Bai Por is now out on bail pending appeal โ but still living under the threat of prison.
This is what dictatorship looks like in the digital age: ๐ด Young women are criminalized for speaking truth. ๐ด Section 112 and the CCA are weaponized to crush democracy. ๐ด The internet becomes a prison, where โsharingโ is treated as a crime.
โย As decolonial intersectional feminists, we denounce this assault on free expression and stand in solidarity with Bai Por and all activists unjustly prosecuted under Section 112 and the CCA.
๐ค Democracy cannot survive when truth is censored. ๐ค Justice cannot exist when young voices are silenced. ๐ค Freedom cannot live under fear.
๐ข We call on the world to monitor #๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐๐ป๐ง๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ and demand an end to Section 112 and the Computer Crimes Act.
