🇲🇲 #SpringRevolution ✊🏽 Five Years of Resistance, Five Years of People Power

Five years since Myanmar’s illegal military coup, the people’s resistance continues to defy brutal repression. While the military attempts to manufacture legitimacy through sham elections, the people of Myanmar continue to resist with unwavering courage and collective power.
Women have stood at the heart of the Spring Revolution: leading protests, organising underground networks, sustaining humanitarian response, and protecting communities. Yet despite their leadership, women’s political participation remains deliberately sidelined. The junta’s staged electoral processes reinforce patriarchal systems that silence women’s voices and exclude them from shaping Myanmar’s future.
✊🏽At Manushya Foundation, we stand with the women, youth, ethnic communities, and all people of Myanmar resisting military dictatorship and fighting for a just feminist future. We also honour those who have lost their lives and those who contiunue to resist.
The struggle continues, and so does our unwavering solidarity.

Crouching low and shuffling at a snail's pace is your safest method of traversal, but you also need to commit to memory the exact locations of every creaking floorboard in the house so you can deliberately step around them when you know Granny is patrolling nearby.
The uncertainty of not knowing where the animatronics will appear makes every camera check feel important and keeps the tension high.
Meaningful change requires patience, solidarity, and continued attention to the rights and safety of affected communities.
Preserving reliable records and personal testimonies is important when public events are disputed or deliberately obscured.
Women often play important roles in community support, communication, education, and peaceful civic participation.
