#𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 🚨 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 🚨 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵.

🇮🇩 As protests spread across Indonesia, people are being silenced not only in the streets by brutal police crackdowns; but also 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.

❌ On 28 August 2025, after the killing of 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 (21 year-old ojo driver) by police — a tragedy that went viral worldwide, exposing police brutality and impunity — the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission ordered media outlets to stop coverage in the name of ‘safety and peace.’

❌ At the same time, the government forced BigTech platforms like Meta and ByteDance to enforce excessive content moderation against so-called ‘misinformation’. TikTok even suspended live streaming nationwide. ➡ 𝗕𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁’𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

❌ In violation of international human rights standards, Indonesian authorities are also 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁. Most recently arresting at least student activists and democracy leaders. , such as: 

➡ 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗻, 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 @𝗹𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂_𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 

➡ 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗾 𝗔𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗿 (@𝗮𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗿.𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿), 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 @𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁

➡ 𝗪𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻, 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 @𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗶_𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗴𝗮𝘁

🚨 These attacks are all part of a familiar pattern of repression aimed at shrinking civic space and silencing the truth about #𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘀𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗜𝗻𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮 🇮🇩.
