𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 living around the Chatree Gold Mine 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 for the health and environmental harm suffered. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 - 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐭, 𝐍𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐲, 𝐍𝐨 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞!


𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬: As this injustice cannot go on, we brought their case to the UN. 𝐎𝐧 𝟏𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐰𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐔𝐍 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟑 𝐔𝐍 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.


Following our UN Complaint, the 𝐔𝐍 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐍 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚, 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 as well as 14 other companies and investors linked to the Chatree Gold Mine and their Governments.


🚨UN Special Procedures 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬.


We call on all responsible parties to act now:

❗𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 must provide remedy to villagers without delay.

❗𝐁𝐮𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 must use their influence to ensure justice.

❗𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 must adopt laws requiring 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
