Today marks the 10th Anniversary of the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of Genocide and of the Prevention of This Crime.
📌 According to Genocide Watch, at least 19 countries currently show signs of genocide in progress. Thousands are dying every day, and silence only guarantees more death.
These are not “conflicts” as they are often labeled; They are organized, systematic attempts to destroy entire populations:
🇵🇸 Palestinians are massacred, starved, displaced from their ancestral land
🇲🇲 Rohingya are stateless, executed, sexually violated for their cultural & religious identity
🇸🇩 Ethnic groups in Western Darfur, Sudan face mass killings and famine in their struggle for democracy
🇨🇩 Congolese communities endure millions killed to serve extractive interests
As decolonial & intersectional feminists, we at Manushya Foundation stand in genuine, outspoken solidarity for ALL communities facing genocide. We stand for #FreeRohingya just as powerfully as we stand for #FreePalestine.
We commit to continue amplifying survivor voices, naming genocide before “it’s too late” and speaking truth to power so governments, international bodies, civil society can take action.
