💙💗🤍🏳️‍🌈Let’s Celebrate Transgender Awareness Week!

📅 Taking place between November 13 - November 19, Transgender Awareness Week is the period established to help raise the visibility of transgender people and address the issues they face. At the end of the week, on November 20, we observe Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) to honor all the lives lost because of transphobic violence.

📺 Despite the representation of transgender people becoming more prevalent and positive in Thai media, both mainstream and online, the reality in the real world is much bleaker.

🏨🏢🏛Transgender individuals in Thailand are deprived of many basic rights, including legal gender recognition, equitable access to gender-affirming healthcare, or the ability to wear uniforms according to their gender. On top of that, they are also at the receiving end of anti-transgender discrimination, hate crimes, and sexual violence.

📣 Today, we are getting these issues out from under the rug and shedding light on how they are negatively impacting transgender people all over Thailand.
