Chhin Chou stood up against land grabbing and demanded fair livelihoods for farmers in her hometown in Cambodia. 🇰🇭

For her courage, she was threatened, hunted, and forced into exile. But the repression didn't stop when she reached Thailand or Canada. Authorities continued to harass and threaten her parents back home to force her into silence.

Despite this all, Chhin Chou refuses to be silent. She continues to speak truth to power for her people.

👉 Swipe through to learn her story and see how authoritarian regimes weaponise fear against families of activists.

📣 At Manushya, we stand in solidarity with Chhin Chhou and all families of at-risk defenders who become survivors, by extension, of transnational repression. No defender or family should stand alone.
