Today, as we honor the International Transgender Day of Visibility, let us move towards understanding, acceptance, and unwavering support for our trans and non-binary queerblings. Within every facet of society, our Queerblings are becoming increasingly more visible, but visibility without adequate protection, recognition and understanding can leave them vulnerable to further discrimination and harm. š³ļøāš š³ļøāā§ļø ā§
š¢ Here are some ways to show solidarity and allyship:
ā Educate Yourself
ā Respect Names and Pronouns
ā Foster Inclusive Conversations
ā Challenge Gender Norms
š And for our trans and non-binary queerblings, hereās a gentle reminder: Embrace your identity with pride, knowing that your existence enriches the fabric of our collective humanity. You can be trans and non-binary even if you have not or donāt want to:
āļø Start Hormone Replacement Therapy
āļø Have gender affirming surgeries (i.e. top surgery, bottom surgery, beard implants, etc.)
āļø Be more cis-passing
āļø Have more gender-normative expression
You are not defined by medical procedures or societal standards as gender exploration is a journey and a spectrum. Regardless of how far along you are on your journey, you are still valid as you are!
