#StopTransnationalRepression ✊ On 20 June, Manushya Foundation joined Na Projects at Bangkok 1899 for Living, Waiting, and Hoping | Refugees Among Us: Stories, Challenges, and Hope in Thailand to honour World Refugee Day.
We’re immensely grateful to hear directly from refugees, raise awareness on transnational repression, share food & stories, and connect with allies including Asylum Access Thailand, Sati Foundation, Parami University, and Hear & Found. 🤝
Thailand is home to nearly 100,000 refugees, many fleeing political persecution. Yet without ratifying the 1951 Refugee Convention, Thailand continues to leave refugees and exiled activists vulnerable to arbitrary arrest, forced returns, and repression that follows them across borders. 🇹🇭
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗯 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮. ⚠️
As decolonial and intersectional feminists, we remain firm in our stand: political refugees must be protected, not punished. ✊🏽
📢 Follow us to stand with refugees, defenders, and exiled activists resisting repression across borders.
