#SaveMyanmar The military junta violating human rights in Loikaw






(English below) #URGENT #SaveMyanmar 🚨บ้านเรือนในเมียนมาถูกทำลาย! ความรุนแรงระหว่างทหารผู้นำการรัฐประหารเมียนมาและกลุ่มต่อต้านปะทุขึ้นที่เมืองลอยก่อว์ รัฐคะยา โดยทหารเมียนมาได้ทิ้งระเบิดลงในพื้นที่ระหว่างวันที่ 8-9 ม.ค. ส่งผลให้ชาวบ้านราว 2000 ราย ต้องอพยพออกจากพื้นที่ หลายคนหวังที่จะหนีจากบ้านเกิดไปยังตอนใต้ของรัฐฉาน ทว่ารัฐบาลท้องถิ่นได้สั่งห้ามไม่ให้คนในพื้นที่รับผู้อพยพเข้าบ้าน ส่วนชาวบ้านลอยก่อว์ที่ไม่มีโอกาสอพยพ ก็ไม่กล้าก้าวออกจากบ้านตนเองขณะที่เฮลิคอปเตอร์ยังบินอยู่เหนือหัว🚁 นอกจากนี้ยังมีรายงานการกราดยิงซุ้มพยาบาล ซึ่งถูกตั้งขึ้นหลังทหารเมียนมาเข้าปะทะพลเรือนในวันที่ 7 ม.ค. ส่งผลให้มีผู้บาดเจ็บหลายราย เสียชีวิต 6 ราย


🚫 การจู่โจมพลเรือนเช่นนี้ถือเป็นละเมิดกฎหมายสิทธิมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศ Tom Andrews ผู้รายงานพิเศษเกี่ยวกับสถานการสิทธิมนุษยชนเมียนมาประจำ UN ได้ออกมาเรียกร้องให้มิน อ่อง ลาย หยุดการโจมตีทางบกและทางอากาศ รวมถึงยกเลิกการปิดกั้นผู้อพยพ



⚖️ ในขณะเดียวกัน อดีตผู้นำออง ซาน ซู จี ได้ถูกตัดสินจำคุกเพิ่มอีก 4 ปี ในข้อหาได้แก่ นำเข้าและครอบครองวิทยุสื่อสาร รวมไปถึงละเมิดมาตรการป้องกัน COVID-19 การตัดสินครั้งนี้เกิดขึ้นหลังเธอถูกสั่งให้รับโทษจำคุก 4 ปี ในเดือนธันวาคม ด้วยข้อหายุยงปลุกปั่นให้มีการต่อต้านกองทัพ และข้อหาละเมิดมาตรการป้องกัน COVID-19 ระหว่างหาเสียงเลือกตั้ง


📍 Phil Robertson จากองค์กร Human Rights Watch มองว่า "ศาลเล่นละครด้วยการพิพากษาคดีในทางลับโดยอ้างข้อหาไร้สาระ" เพื่อหวังจำคุกออง ซาน ซู จี อย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด

#URGENT #SaveMyanmar🚨 Fighting between Myanmar's military regime and resistance groups has escalated in #Loikaw, #Kayah State. The junta launched airstrikes from January 8 to 9, displacing around 2000 people since. Although many hope to flee to Southern Shan State, local administrators warned locals not to shelter displaced persons from Kayah. Those that did not flee were afraid to step outside of their homes while helicopters hovered above the town. Several wards were shelled. They were set up to accommodate people wounded from the junta's attack on January 7, where six civilians were killed.


🚫 This attack targeting civilians is a serious breach of international human rights and humanitarian law. UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Myanmar, Tom Andrews, has made a statement urging Min Aung Hlaing to "halt the air and ground attacks" and "lift the blockade of those seeking to escape."



⚖️ Meanwhile, ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi was sentenced to four more years in prison on charges including importing walkie-talkies and owning a set of signal jammers, as well as breaching a natural disaster management law related to coronavirus rules. This sentence came after she was given four years in jail back in December on charges related to incitement and breaching COVID-19 restrictions.


📍 Phil Robertson of Human Rights Watch sees the junta's "courtroom circus of secret proceedings on bogus charges" as their attempt to keep Aung San Suu Kyi in jail indefinitely.
