That’s a wrap on our UPR Submissions Workshop in Bangkok! ✊🏽🔥

The workshop focused on strengthening what makes advocacy powerful: credibility, clarity, and grounded recommendations.
Sixty-seven (67) grassroots activists from across Thailand came together in Bangkok, each bringing diverse expertise and intersectional identities, yet united by a shared determination to make their demands clear ahead of Thailand's UPR IV. Among them were 28 women human rights defenders (WHRDs) and 19 members of the LGBTQ+ community. Their demands spanned a wide range of issues, including access to healthcare, education rights, gender-based violence, migrant labour rights, sex workers’ rights, environmental justice, and Indigenous People rights.
In the coming week, frontline communities, alongside us at Manushya Foundation, are moving full speed ahead to finalise well-evidenced reports that reflect realities on the ground, as the UN calls for civil society submissions to review Thailand’s human rights record (UPR IV).
