#TransWomen #COVID19 - Did you know the discrimination faced by Transwomen has dramatically worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia?
📍 Reflecting back on a year and a half of the pandemic, the situation gets challenging as time went on especially for the transgender community.
In this trying time, transgenders in Indonesia experience difficulties in accessing public services and COVID-19 vaccination programmes because they did not own identity cards or E-KTP!
However, there's light at the end of the tunnel! The Directorate General Population and Civil Registration recently issued a policy on identity cards for transgenders!
📍 The Head of Civil Registry Office of Depok City has opened the service for the registration of family cards and electronic ID cards (e-KTP) for the transgender community in the city. The implementation will not only take place in the City of Depok but also in all cities and districts across Indonesia!
✊ Hopefully, they will finally be able to get their #RighttoIdentity and #RighttoHealthCare - and get vaccinated!
