To exist is to resist! Disability Justice IS Feminist Justice.

📣 Disability rights organiser and artist Patricia Berne reminds us,

"We cannot comprehend ableism without grasping its interrelations with heteropatriarchy, white supremacy, colonialism and capitalism."

𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 through trauma, injury, and denial of care.

Working class, racialized, and Indigenous women bear the heaviest burden of this intersecting, systemic violence. We see these larger forces at play in the weaponized starvation in Gaza, the atrocities against the Rohingya, and a capitalist prison-industrial complex that profits off the medical neglect of incarcerated people.

🌺 A truly decolonial and intersectional feminist movement shifts the most impacted communities from the margins to the center.
