Everything You Need to Know about #WhatsHappeningInThailand! Report Launch!
เปิดตัวรายงานสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนประเทศไทย: รวมทุกเรื่องที่คุณควรรู้เกี่ยวกับ #WhatsHappeningInThailand!
🚨 เนื่องในโอกาสกระบวนการทบทวนสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ หรือ Universal Periodic Review (UPR) สำหรับประเทศไทย ซึ่งได้จัดขึ้น ณ กรุงเจนีวาไปเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว มูลนิธิมานุษยะได้จัดทำ “รายงานสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนประเทศไทย: รวมทุกเรื่องที่คุณควรรู้เกี่ยวกับ #WhatsHappeningInThailand” ร่วมกับองค์กรด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทยกว่า 50 องค์กร ✊🏽 เพื่อนำเสนอประเด็นด้านสิทธิฯและเสรีภาพที่น่าจับตามองของไทยกว่า 24 เรื่อง โดยทางมูลนิธิฯได้ทำการส่งรายงานนี้แก่สหประชาชาติเพื่อรายงานสถานการณ์ในประเทศให้แก่ประชาคมโลกทราบและเพื่อที่ประเทศสมาชิกจะสามารถให้ข้อแนะนำ (Recommendation) ที่เหมาะสมแก่ประเทศไทยระหว่างกระบวนการUPRได้ โดยเราหวังว่ารัฐบาลไทยจะนำข้อแนะนำเหล่านี้ไปปฏิบัติตามและพัฒนาสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศต่อไป
📍 ในช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา แม้ว่าจะพบอุปสรรคมากมายจากภาวะโรคระบาดโควิท19 #COVID19 มูลนิธิมานุษยะได้ทำงานร่วมกับภาคองค์กรประชาสังคมทั่วประเทศอย่างใกล้ชิดเพื่อรวบรวมหลักฐานเกี่ยวกับการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนในพื้นที่ต่างๆ เราได้พูดคุยกับตัวแทนชุมชนมากมายที่ยืดหยัดต่อสู้อย่างไม่ย่อท้อกับความอยุติธรรมและการกดขี่จากภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน
✊🏽 และผลลัพธ์จากการทำงานตลอดช่วงปีที่ผ่านมาของเรา คือ เอกสารข้อเท็จจริง (Factsheets) พร้อมข้อมูลอัดแน่นจัดเต็ม สำหรับ 24 ประเด็นด้านสิทธิมนุยชนที่น่าจับตามองของไทย รวมไปถึงข้อแนะนำ (Recommendation) แก่รัฐบาลเพื่อแก้ไขและพัฒนาประเด็นต่างๆ ทุกๆเรื่องที่ทุกคนควรรู้เกี่ยวกับ #WhatsHappeningInThailand เราได้รวบรวมเอาไว้ให้ที่รายงานนี้แล้ว!
รายงานเล่มนี้รวบรวมสิทธิมนุษยชน 3 ด้านหลัก ตั้งแต่สิทธิพลเมืองและสิทธิทางการเมือง (Civil &Political Rights) สิทธิทางเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และวัฒนธรรม (Economic, Social, Cultural & Environmental Rights) รวมไปถึงสิทธิคนกลุ่มน้อยและกลุ่มชายขอบ (Marginalized Groups) โดยแบ่งออกเป็นประเด็นย่อยเช่น การชุมนุมเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตย การทำแท้งเสรี โทษประหารชีวิต หรือ ธุรกิจกับสิทธิมนุษยชน รวมถึงสิทธิของกลุ่มต่างๆเช่น สิทธิผู้ลี้ภัย สิทธิเด็กและเยาวชน สิทธิผู้สูงวัย สิทธิคนอีสาน สิทธิผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศ และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย!
🗣️ นอกจากนั้น ทางมูลนิธิฯได้จัดทำข้อแนะนำแก่รัฐบาลไทยสำหรับประเด็นด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทยทั้ง 24 ประเด็น เพื่อเป็นแนวทางแก่คณะทูตฯประเทศต่างๆ ด้วยเราหวังว่าคณะทูตฯจะสามารถนำข้อมูลที่เราจัดเตรียมไว้ไปประกอบเป็นข้อแนะนำที่ถูกต้อง แม่นยำ ปฏิบัติได้จริง และสะท้อนความต้องการที่แท้จริงของชุมชมในพื้นที่
📍 กระบวนการทบทวนสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งคณะมนตรีสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งสหประชาชาติ (Universal Periodic Review - UPR) คืออะไร? คือกระบวนการทบทวนรายงานสถานการณ์สิทธิมนุษยชนของแต่ละประเทศ ต่อหน้าคณะผู้แทนถาวรของประเทศสมาชิก ณ สหประชาชาติ โดยแต่ละประเทศสมาชิกจะสามารถให้ข้อแนะนำ (Recommendation) แก่ประเทศไทยได้ ทั้งนี้ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับรัฐบาลไทยว่าจะรับข้อแนะนำนั้นๆไปปฏิบัติตามหรือไม่

Everything you need to know about #WhatsHappeningInThailand! Report Launch!
#WhatsHappeningInThailand Thailand 🇹🇭 UPR III was last week! 🚨 It's time for the military-backed government to face the truth and be accountable for its human rights violations! ✊🏽 On this occasion, we are sharing with you our collective efforts, together with more than 50 human rights groups, telling you "Everything you need to know about #WhatsHappeningInThailand"! This report is a comprehensive overview of the 24 most pressing human rights issues in Thailand and was shared with the United Nations and diplomats ahead of Thailand's Universal Periodic Review #UPR39. Our goal was for them to know the truth so they could make the recommendations we need to improve the situation on the ground! Read on to learn more 👇🏼
📍 Over the course of the past year, we collaborated with grassroots communities and civil society organizations across the country to gather credible evidence about the real human rights situation on the ground. Despite the challenges caused by the #COVID-19 pandemic, we managed to connect with brave civil society and community representatives who fight injustice and oppression!
✊🏽 The result? 24 UPR Factsheets containing detailed information on the most pressing current human rights issues in Thailand, but also including our demands and recommendations for a better Thailand!
Divided into three parts - Civil&Political Rights; Economic, Social, Cultural & Environmental Rights; and Marginalized Communities, we cover issues such as pro-democracy protests, safe abortion, Business and Human Rights, and the death penalty, as well as issues faced by marginalized groups such as indigenous women, refugees and asylum seekers, children, LGBTIQ+ persons, the elderly, Khon Isaan and many more!
🗣️ The 24 UPR factsheets - and the recommendations they contain - were created to guide foreign diplomats and their Governments in giving SMART recommendations to the Thai Government during its 3rd UPR. Such recommendations are concrete, actionable, and address the real needs of grassroots communities who can use them to hold the Government accountable.
📍 Reminder: The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a comprehensive review of countries' human rights record where they are held accountable for their human rights violations in front of delegations from the whole world. Each UN Member State, individual country, can make recommendations to Thailand to improve the human rights situation on the ground. The Thai government will accept or note those.
