🚨#SaveBangkloi 🕰 Why has the problem of the Bangkloi indigenous community not been solved yet?





(English below) 🚨#Saveบางกลอย 🕰1 ปีผ่านไป ทำไมปัญหาชุมชนกะเหรี่ยงบางกลอยยังไม่ถูกแก้?


✊🏻วันที่ 29 มกราคม 2565 กลุ่ม “บางกลอยคืนถิ่น” จัดกิจกรรมถือป้ายข้อความ “1 ปี บางกลอย ปัญหาที่ยังไม่ถูกแก้” เพื่อเรียกร้องการแก้ปัญหาชุมชนกะเหรี่ยงบางกลอย อำเภอแก่งกระจาน จังหวัดเพชรบุรีหลังจากที่ผ่านมา 1 ปี โดยเริ่มจากลานหน้าหอศิลปะวัฒนธรรม กรุงเทพฯ Sky Walk และเดินผ่านสยาม กลุ่ม “บางกลอยคืนถิ่น” แถลงข้อเรียกร้อง 3 ข้อ


1️⃣ ตั้งคณะกรรมการอิสระชุดใหม่ตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงและแก้ปัญหา

2️⃣ ยุติการดำเนินคดีชาวบ้านบางกลอย 30 คนและภาคี Save บางกลอย 10 คน

3️⃣ แก้พ.ร.บ.อุทยานแห่งชาติ พ.ศ. 2562


💪🏻นอกจากนี้ในวันที่ 30 มกราคม 2565 ชุมนุมของขบวนการประชาชนเพื่อสังคมที่เป็นธรรมหรือ P-Move จัด Car Mob #Saveบางกลอย โดยเคลื่อนขบวนจากหน้าโรงเรียนราชวินิตมัธยม ถนนพิษณุโลกตั้งแต่เวลา 12:00 น. ไปกระทรวงทรัพยาการธรรมชาติและส่งแวดล้อม เพื่ออ่านแถลงการณ์ข้อเรียกร้องของกลุ่มบางกลอยคืนถิ่น จากนั้นได้เคลื่อนขบวนไปยังอนุสาวรีย์ชัยสมรภูมิและเสร็จกิจกรรมในเวลา 15:00 น.


⚠️ข้อเรียกร้องจากกลุ่มบางกลอยคืนถิ่นและ P-Move นอกจากจะเป็นภาพสะท้อนความละเลยของรัฐบาลไทยในการแก้ปัญหาสิทธิมนุษยชนแล้ว ยังเสดงให้เห็นถึงการกระทำของรัฐบาลที่ “สนับสนุน” การละเมิดพันธกรณีมนุษยชนระหว่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอนุสัญญาว่าด้วยการขจัดการเลือกปฏิบัติทางเชื้อชาติ

✊🏻On January 29, the Save Bangkloi Coalition organized a protest starting in front of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Siam Sky Walk and around Siam Square ). The protesters held a banner “1 year has passed. But the problem of Bangkloi is yet to be solved” and demanded the Government to solve the problem of the Bangkloi Karen indigenous community evicted from their homes in the Kaeng Krachan National Park, Phetchaburi Province.


📍 A year ago, the community returned to their village within the National Park only to be forcibly moved by the park authorities. In early March 2021, 22 community members were even arrested and detained for refusing to leave the area which has been their home for generations! During the 29 January protest, the Save Bangkloi Coalition announced three demands to the Government:


1️⃣ New independent committee to be established in order to investigate and solve the issue

2️⃣ Withdrawal of all lawsuits against 30 Bangkloi villagers and 10 Save Bangkloi Coalition members

3️⃣ Revision of the National Park Act 2562 (2019)


💪🏻 In addition, on January 30, P-Move, a civil society group fighting for the rights of Bang Kloi villagers, organized a Car Mob to #SaveBangkloi. The Car Mob started in front of Rajavinit Mathayom School in Phitsanulok Road at 12 pm and drove to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in order to read the announcement of the Save BangKloi Coalition. The protest finished at the Victory Monument at 3 pm.


⚠️The demand of the Save Bangkloi Coalition and P-Move not only highlights the ignorance of the Thai government to solve human rights issues but also uncovers how the Government perpetuates violations of international human rights law, especially the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD).
